Tucson Gem Show Dates 2006
Every year there are new shows and the show promoters keep changing the names and locations of their show. It is a full time job just keeping things straight. I am listing the different shows and the general locations. I will also tell you what I know about specific shows and give an opinion. Of course you maybe looking for different things or like different shows. So each to their own.
Note: For specific locations and a map pick up a Tucson show Guide. They are all over the show and free, the guide will also list the FREE shuttle routes and times.
AKS Gem Shows (locations: La Quinta Inn, Howard Johnson) - This show is on the freeway in the hotels, as a faceter you should go to this show. There is not much facet rough here, but some.
Jan. 28-Feb. 11
American Gem Trade Association (Tucson Convention Center) - This is the high end finished gem stone show. There is virtually no facet rough here. The show is worth seeing if you want to look. (Requires Wholesale License)
Feb. 1-6
American Indian Exposition - No idea never managed to get to this show. I have been told it is mostly jewelry.
Jan. 29-Feb. 12

Jan. 28-Feb. 11
The Bead Renaissance (new location next to the Holidome) - Beads, need I say more?
Jan. 31-Feb. 6
Beaudry Gem & Mineral Show - No idea, a new show. Beaudry is a well known fire agate collector, so I suspect you will see some of the best fire agate around cut and displayed at this show.
Feb. 1-8
Executive Inn Mineral & Fossil Show - No facet rough in general, I always enjoy looking though.
Jan. 28-Feb. 11
Gem & Jewelry Exchange - This is mostly a cut and finished gemstone/jewelry show. There is a little bit, but not much facet rough here. The show is worth seeing if you want to look. (Requires Wholesale License)
Feb. 1-6
Gem & Lapidary Dealer's Association (Starr Pass Marriott) - This is a finished gemstone/jewelry show. There is virtually no facet rough here. The show is worth seeing if you want to look. Parking is a problem. (Requires Wholesale License)
Jan. 31-Feb. 5
Gem & Lapidary Wholesalers (locations: Gem Mall, Rodeway Inn) - This is the bead show. Not much but beads and junk, with a little cabbing and very occasionally low end facet rough. (Requires Wholesale License)
Jan. 28-Feb. 10
Gem & Lapidary Wholesalers (Holiday Inn/Holidome) - This is the bead show. Not much but beads and junk, with a little cabbing and some occasionally low end facet rough. (Requires Wholesale License)
Feb. 2-10
Globe-X (Days Inn) - This is low end, you may find a little facet rough mixed in the beads and African art junk. Interesting to at least walk through.
Jan. 28-Feb. 13
International Gem & Jewelry Show (locations: Frontage Rd., Michigan St.) - Mostly beads and junk, a little lapidary and jewelry. OK, to walk through but low priority. (Requires Wholesale License)

Jan. 27-Feb. 9

Jan. 28-Feb. 9
Rapa River Gem & Mineral Show - Along the freeway, lots of junk, some good cabbing dealers and lots of hippies.
Jan. 27-Feb. 12
Rio Grande Catalog in Motion (Tucson East Hilton) - I do not do business or recommend these people. In my opinion do not waste your time.
Feb. 3-6
To Bead True-Blue - Beads, need I say more?
